Neuro Trauma

More than one million people each year sustain a traumatic brain injury (TBI), a sudden physical blow to the head that may cause a contusion (bruising of the brain), ahematoma (bleeding around the brain) or both, and can damage the brain, leading to coma and even death.

Morristown Medical Center's Trauma Center, which is verified as a Level I Regional Trauma Center by the American College of Surgeons and designated a Level II by the state of New Jersey, treats neuro trauma patients 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

We partner with local communities’ emergency services to ensure that acutely injured patients arrive at Morristown Medical in a timely manner and are treated as quickly as possible. In addition, our health care team conducts trauma research and offers community education and injury prevention programs.
