Dr. Alma Yum specializes in managing and treating patients with epilepsy at the Atlantic Neuroscience Institute, at Overlook Medical Center. She is part of the Atlantic Medical Group and is a participating provider of the Atlantic Accountable Care Organization.
After earning her medical degree at the Medical College of Georgia at the Georgia Health Sciences University, Dr. Yum completed her neurology residency at Rutgers - Robert Wood Johnson Medical School, and did a two-year fellowship in neurophysiology and epilepsy at the Barrow Neurologic Institute in Phoenix, AZ. She is board-certified in epilepsy as well as clinical neurophysiology by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology, and is a member of the American Epilepsy Society and the American Academy of Neurology.
Prior to joining Atlantic Health System, she spent five years in Denver, Colorado at the Denver Health Medical Center, where she also specialized in epilepsy and was involved in medical education as an assistant professor of neurology with the University of Colorado School of Medicine. There she served as co-director of the Epilepsy Monitoring Unit and site director for epilepsy education at Denver Health. Dr. Yum has been especially active in helping refractory epilepsy patients, which includes advanced invasive epilepsy monitoring and offering treatment options such as neurostimulation devices and epilepsy surgery, She is dedicated to continuing this work at Atlantic Health System.
