Bhavi Patel, MD

Bhavi Patel, MD, is the codirector of interventional pulmonology at Atlantic Health and section head of interventional pulmonology at Morristown Medical Center, part of Atlantic Medical Group. Board-certified in internal medicine, pulmonary disease, and critical care medicine by the American Board of Internal Medicine, he treats patients with a wide range of pulmonary conditions, including asthma, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease / emphysema, pleural diseases, lung nodules, interstitial lung disease, and airway disorders. He specializes in airway interventions including ablative techniques (laser, APC cautery, cryotherapy) and stents, diagnostic and navigational bronchoscopy including robotic bronchoscopy, bronchoscopic lung volume reduction, endobronchial ultrasound, and indwelling pleural catheter placement. He works in a multidisciplinary manner with multiple specialties to ensure patients receive effective, safe, and timely care and is enthusiastic about applying cutting-edge technology to advance patient care.

Dr. Patel obtained both his BS in biology and medical degree from Drexel University, Philadelphia, PA, followed by his residency and two fellowships (pulmonary and critical care, interventional pulmonary) at Cooper Medical School of Rowan University, Camden, NJ. He has delivered multiple presentations, authored numerous peer-reviewed publications, and maintains membership in the professional societies American Association for Bronchology and Interventional Pulmonology, American College of Chest Physicians, and the American Thoracic Society. He is a participating provider of the Atlantic Accountable Care Organization.
