Wait times represent the average estimated length of time from registration to being assigned a "first provider" (a doctor, nurse practitioner or physician assistant). Times displayed for Atlantic Health Systems are:

  • Reported as an average of wait times for the previous 2 hours of patients that have presented to the emergency department and have been seen by a provider
  • Refreshed at least every 15 minutes

Many circumstances can affect wait times - for example, patients arriving by ambulance or with life-threatening injuries or illnesses. Patients with severe conditions will be seen before those with less-serious problems or ailments. These times are provided for informational purposes only and cannot be guaranteed upon arrival.

Arts and Health Partnership: Brining Arts and health Programs to the Community

We express our mission and values in this partnership through principles of shared responsibility and respect for diversity. Embracing synergies between mind, body and spirit, we recognize that optimal well-being for society includes supporting these in practice and application.

We offer our communities unparalleled access to evolutionary advances in health and the arts through training, service, and research. We will transfer that knowledge to a new generation of students and health care professionals. Together we enable future leaders to use knowledge in beneficial ways, sharing a rich array of intellectual and cultural resources.

Our Collaborative Strategies

  • Institutional synergy – sharing resources to benefit our communities
  • Medical humanities – education to further observational skills and embrace humanistic medicine
  • Professional collaboration – innovation and leadership across our respective disciplines, enabling research and publication to advance scholarship
  • Professional development – through internships and externships to provide a forum for training, research, performance and exhibitions
  • Arts performance and sports health – sharing safe and effective methods of training students and professionals in the areas of arts performance and sports health
  • Fundraising – jointly securing funds to further the mission and vision of our partnership

Partnership research, programming and training will be led by Montclair State University’s College of the Arts leadership, faculty and staff in conjunction with Atlantic Health System leadership, medical professionals and employees.

Graduate Certificate Program

Montclair State University and Atlantic Health System have launched a new graduate certificate program in Arts and Health – the first of its kind in New Jersey – to meet the needs of this growing field. The certificate program provides arts professionals, health care workers and administrators with the educational background and tools needed to integrate the arts in support of health and wellness. The program can be completed within a twelve month period, and students may also register for individual courses.
