Additional Information for Visitors

  • All visitors must comply with all reasonable requirements imposed by the hospital or facility to minimize the potential spread of infection.
  • Limited points of entry: 
    • Medical centers will establish designated visitor and support person entrances. These entrances will be communicated to the patient prior to their arrival to the medical center.
  • Visitors and support persons will be actively assessed for COVID-19 symptoms: 
    • Medical centers will establish and maintain screening stations at the designated visitor, support person and patient entrances.  
    • Designated staff will assess visitor and support persons accompanying the patient for temperature and other symptoms using a standard screening tool.
  • All visitors are required to perform hand hygiene before visiting a patient including:
    • Using the gel dispensers located near the screening station.
  • All visitors are required to wear a face mask at all times while in the medical center:
    • Upon completion of successful screening (no fever or symptoms reported), the visitor or support person should be provided a face mask and instructed to wear the mask at all times. 
  • Once within the medical center, all visitors must remain in designated area(s):
    • Prior to leaving the screening station, each visitor or support person will be given a sticker that includes their name, location they will be visiting, and date indicating that they were screened.  This sticker must be worn in a visible area.
    • Requirements for visitors in outpatient procedures: 
      • Always wear a mask
      • Maintain social distancing (6 feet away) from others
      • Remain in the designated waiting area
      • Visitors or support persons may return to their vehicle until the procedure or surgery has concluded.  
      • The patient must provide the visitor or support person’s contact number if they will not be accompanying the patient to the designated waiting area.  
      • If the visitor or support person elects to return to their vehicle and does not have their sticker, they must be screened again upon re-entry.
  • Maintain social distancing
  • Waiting areas and public restrooms will be cleaned frequently
