Additional Instructions for Visitors and Support Persons

  • All visitors/support persons must comply with all requirements imposed by the hospital or facility to minimize the potential spread of infection. This includes following social distancing measures of six feet between yourself and others.
  • Limited points of entry: 
    • Medical centers will establish designated visitor/support person entrances. These entrances will be communicated to the patient prior to their arrival to the medical center.
  • Visitors and support persons will be actively assessed for COVID-19 symptoms: 
    • Medical centers will establish and maintain screening stations at the designated visitor, support person and patient entrances.  
    • Designated team members will assess visitors and support persons accompanying the patient for temperature and other symptoms using a standard screening tool. If visitors/support persons fail the screening, they will not be allowed into the facility.
  • All visitors/support persons are required to perform hand hygiene before visiting a patient including:
    • Using the gel dispensers located near the screening station.
  • All visitors/support persons are required to wear a face mask at all times while in the medical center:
    • Upon completion of successful screening (COVID symptoms, recent positive COVID-19 test results), the visitor or support person will be provided a face mask and instructions to follow while in the medical center.
  • Once within the medical center, all visitors/support persons must remain in designated area(s):
    • Prior to leaving the screening station, each visitor or support person will be given a sticker that includes their name, location they will be visiting, and date indicating that they were screened.  This sticker must be worn in a visible area.
    • Requirements for support persons in outpatient procedures: 
      • Always wear a mask
      • Maintain social distancing (6 feet away) from others
      • Remain in the designated area as directed by our team members
      • Support persons may return to their vehicle until the procedure or surgery has concluded.  
      • The patient must provide the support person’s contact number if they will not be accompanying the patient to the designated waiting area.  
      • If the support person elects to return to their vehicle and does not have their sticker, they must be screened again upon re-entry.
  • Maintain social distancing (at least 6 feet away) from others
  • Waiting areas and public restrooms will be cleaned frequently
  • In addition to stated policies and procedures, all visitors must follow all posted instructions and guidance.
