Wait times represent the average estimated length of time from registration to being assigned a "first provider" (a doctor, nurse practitioner or physician assistant). Times displayed for Atlantic Health Systems are:

  • Reported as an average of wait times for the previous 2 hours of patients that have presented to the emergency department and have been seen by a provider
  • Refreshed at least every 15 minutes

Many circumstances can affect wait times - for example, patients arriving by ambulance or with life-threatening injuries or illnesses. Patients with severe conditions will be seen before those with less-serious problems or ailments. These times are provided for informational purposes only and cannot be guaranteed upon arrival.

Brian Walsh, MD, MBA
Director, Emergency Medical Services (EMS) Fellowship

Dr. Walsh completed an emergency medicine residency and EMS fellowship at Morristown Medical Center. He was awarded the New Jersey Chapter American College of Emergency Physicians (NJ-ACEP) EMS Physician of the Year in 2006. He is a board-certified emergency physician and a faculty member in the Department of Emergency Medicine at Morristown Medical, as well as a member of the hospital’s disaster committee. He has been involved heavily in resident education and academic research since serving as chief resident of the department.

Sol Nevins, MD
Medical Director, Atlantic Ambulance

Dr. Nevins is the medical director of Atlantic Ambulance Corporation. He has served as the chair and vice chair of the New Jersey Mobile Intensive Care Unit (MICU) Advisory Council and was awarded the NJ-ACEP EMS Physician of the Year in 2003. A board-certified emergency physician and a faculty member in the Department of Emergency Medicine at Morristown Medical, he has also chaired the Morristown Medical Disaster Committee.
