Wait times represent the average estimated length of time from registration to being assigned a "first provider" (a doctor, nurse practitioner or physician assistant). Times displayed for Atlantic Health Systems are:

  • Reported as an average of wait times for the previous 2 hours of patients that have presented to the emergency department and have been seen by a provider
  • Refreshed at least every 15 minutes

Many circumstances can affect wait times - for example, patients arriving by ambulance or with life-threatening injuries or illnesses. Patients with severe conditions will be seen before those with less-serious problems or ailments. These times are provided for informational purposes only and cannot be guaranteed upon arrival.

  • August - Atlantic Ambulance Administration: Introduction to emergency medicine business management
  • September - New Jersey State Office of Emergency Medical Services: Meetings with state regulators in Trenton; Air Medical Physician Association national conference; medical director course
  • October - Research and MD-1: Research projects, including completing zero-order draft; American College of Emergency Physicians (ACEP) national meeting
  • November - Atlantic Ambulance Helicopter: Travel on the helicopter with flight nurses, medics and helicopter administration
  • December - EMS Education: Paramedic classes; lecturing
  • January - Research and MD-1: National Association of EMS Physicians national conference; medical director’s course
  • February - New York City EMS: Supervision provided by New York City Fire Department’s EMS fellowship director; American Academy of Emergency Medicine (AAEM) national conference; open microphone presentations; EMS sub-committee

  • April - Atlantic Ambulance Helicopter
  • May - Elective: Society for Academic Emergency Medicine (SAEM) national meeting
  • June - Wrap-Up: Completion of research and administrative projects; strategy meetings; selection of next year’s fellowship project
