Radiology Residency Conferences

Teaching conferences for the Diagnostic Radiology Residency Program at Morristown Medical Center and Overlook Medical Center are held five days a week, Monday through Friday, at 7:45am and Noon. The core curriculum conferences occur at Noon and include the following topics, each of which are covered with one or two lectures per month during the academic year:

  • Body computed tomography
  • Interventional radiology
  • Cardiac imaging
  • Chest radiology
  • Gastrointestinal radiology
  • Genitourinary radiology
  • Magnetic resonance imaging
  • Mammography
  • Musculoskeletal radiology
  • Neuroradiology
  • Nuclear medicine
  • Pediatric radiology
  • Ultrasound

Other conferences include the monthly Interesting Case Conference, Journal Club, and the weekly Diagnostic Physics and Nuclear Physics lectures. Interdepartmental conferences consist of interesting cases provided by the Radiology Departments and other participating hospital departments. Regularly scheduled special monthly conferences include: Orthopedic/Radiology, Surgery/Radiology, Urology/Radiology, and Pathology/Radiology. Quality Assurance Conference occurs every other month.

Monday

7:45-8:30 am: Resident-presented Didactic /Patient-Centered Radiology, Professionalism Lecture Series 
12:00-1:30 pm: Attending-presented Didactics
1:30-2:00 pm: Medical Rounds

Medical Rounds are conducted with Radiology residents, Internal Medicine residents, and medical students from both services.

Tuesday

7:45-8:30 am: Resident-presented Didactics
12:00-1:30 pm: Attending-presented Didactics
1:30-2:00 pm: Medical Student Tutorial

Presented by Radiology residents, for students to become familiar with normal anatomy as demonstrated in common imaging studies, and with the radiologic appearance of some common pathologic processes.

Wednesday

7:45-8:30 am: Attending-presented Didactics
12:00-1:30 pm: Attending-presented Didactics
1:30-2:00 pm: Medical Student Tutorial
