TrueBeam Radiotherapy & Radiosurgery

TrueBeam Radiotherapy

Tumors that are close to vital organs in the body can prove difficult to remove surgically. The TrueBeam™ Radiotherapy System, available at Morristown Medical Center, allows us to precisely target these types of tumors with high doses of radiation while sparing most of the surrounding healthy tissue in the process.

Imaging Capabilities

Our TrueBeam system offers the most advanced imaging guidance technologies on the market today, including 2D, 3D and dynamic 4D imaging. This helps ensure accurate patient positioning and enhances our ability to track patient movement. Morristown Medical Center’s TrueBeam also has iterative cone beam computed tomography (iCBCT), which improves soft tissue visualization and tumor targeting. We were the first hospital in the Northeast to offer iCBCT technology and the first in the country to have an in-room CT, further cementing our role as a leader in image guided radiation therapy.

Radiation Treatments

A wide spectrum of advanced radiation treatments are available with TrueBeam, including intensity modulated radiation therapy (IMRT), stereotactic body radiotherapy (SBRT) and volumetric modulated arc therapy (VMAT). These methods can be used to treat all kinds of cancer, especially those of the lung, liver, breast, prostate, brain, head and neck, abdomen, pelvis and spine. What’s more, TrueBeam is often faster, more accurate and more

Stereotactic Radiosurgery

We use precise, high-dose radiation with pinpoint accuracy to target metastatic brain tumors. Radiosurgery is a non-invasive and painless treatment in which robotic technology is used to deliver beams of highly focused radiation. This form of focused radiation has improved the quality of life for many of our patients with brain tumors.
