ONLINE SCHEDULING AVAILABLE FOR UPDATED BOOSTER AND MORE
Atlantic Health System is offering online scheduling for eligible individuals to receive their first dose, third dose or their boosters of COVID-19 vaccine. (Your second dose will be scheduled at your first vaccine appointment.) Pfizer-BioNTech and Moderna COVID-19 vaccines are available. Manufacturer and age-group availability varies by location.
Please answer a series of questions about the patient's eligibility, pick a date and time and provide the patient's information. Vaccines are available at no cost to you.
COVID-19 Vaccines for Children
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention recommends that children age 6 months old and up be vaccinated for COVID-19, even if they've already had COVID. Learn more from the CDC >
Atlantic Health System offers the COVID-19 vaccine made by Pfizer-BioNTech for age 6 months and up and the COVID-19 vaccine made by Moderna for age 6 months to 5 years. Dose and series vary by manufacturer. Learn more >
Children who are immunocompromised may be eligible for a third dose and second booster.
Booster Shots
UPDATED BOOSTER AVAILABLE FOR AGE 6 MONTHS AND OLDER
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention recommends that people age 6 months and older receive a COVID-19 vaccine booster if eligible. An updated booster (bivalent) that targets the latest variants is available for individuals age 6 months and up.* This should be scheduled at least two months after the last booster or completing the initial vaccine series. *Please note: Moderna boosters are available at Atlantic Health System for ages 6 months to 5 years and 18+. Pfizer boosters are also available for children and teens, age 5 and up. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention have not authorized a Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 vaccine booster for children who have completed their initial vaccination series. Children who have not yet received the third dose of their primary series will receive an updated (bivalent) third dose.
Third Dose
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention recommends that people who are moderately or severely immunocompromised receive a 3rd dose of the Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine (age five and up) or Moderna COVID-19 vaccine (age 18 and up) at least 28 days after their second dose. Please discuss your eligibility and whether you should receive the third dose with your doctor before scheduling your appointment. You'll also need to know whether you received Pfizer or Moderna for your first two doses.

Who's eligible

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention definition of moderate to severely immunocompromised includes people who have:
- been receiving active cancer treatment for tumors or cancers of the blood
- received an organ transplant and are taking medicine to suppress the immune system
- received a stem cell transplant within the last two years or are taking medicine to suppress the immune system
- moderate or severe primary immunodeficiency (such as DiGeorge syndrome, Wiskott-Aldrich syndrome)
- advanced or untreated HIV infection
- active treatment with high-dose corticosteroids or other drugs that may suppress your immune response
