Transcatheter Valve and Structural Heart Treatment Options

For patients with severe valvular disease who are not candidates for conventional valve repair surgery, the Valve and Structural Heart Center at Gagnon Cardiovascular Institute offers minimally invasive, catheter-based treatment options. Instead of removing the damaged valve, our heart specialists  will replace the valve through a small incision in the leg or chest.  Implantable devices such as the CoreValve or SAPIEN  are inserted via a catheter and implanted into the heart. Our expert specialists offer the following catheter-based procedures:

These non-surgical techniques can be life-saving for those considered low  to high-risk for surgical valve therapies. Minimally invasive procedures enable patients to undergo advanced cardiovascular repairs with much shorter recovery times.
