Judith Canabal Alvear, MD, is an obstetrician/gynecologist with Atlantic Medical Group. She speaks fluent Spanish and provides state-of-the-art care to women of all ages, combining traditional skills with the latest innovations in women’s health. Dr. Canabal Alvear treats a wide range of concerns related to female pelvic health and provides the full spectrum of labor, delivery, and postpartum care, managing normal and high-risk pregnancies. Experienced, thorough, and knowledgeable, she displays a compassionate approach with each patient, from adolescent to the adult woman transitioning to menopause.
Dr. Canabal Alvear has a special interest in minimally invasive gynecological surgery and has achieved special certifications in robotic and laparoscopic surgery. She is a member of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists.
After receiving a PhD in cell and developmental biology, Dr. Canabal Alvear earned her medical degree from the Universidad Central del Caribe School of Medicine in Puerto Rico. She pursued her residency in OB/GYN at Morristown Medical Center, a Regional Perinatal Referral Center that afforded her comprehensive training in all aspects of maternity care. She is a participating provider of the Atlantic Accountable Care Organization.
