About me
Dr. Mina Abdelshahed, MD, is a board-certified orthopaedic surgeon specializing in shoulder, elbow, and upper extremity conditions, including sports-related injuries, fractures, and complex orthopaedic trauma. A native of Union, New Jersey, he earned his bachelor’s degree in biological sciences with a minor in psychology from Rutgers University, graduating summa cum laude. He received his Doctor of Medicine from Rutgers University–New Jersey Medical School, where he was inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha National Medical Society. Dr. Abdelshahed completed his internship and orthopaedic surgery residency at Rutgers University–New Jersey Medical School, serving as Administrative Chief Resident and training extensively at University Hospital, a Level I trauma center. He went on to complete a fellowship in Shoulder and Elbow Surgery at NYU Hospital for Joint Diseases in Manhattan, gaining advanced expertise in both surgical and non-surgical treatment of shoulder, elbow, and upper extremity disorders. He currently provides comprehensive orthopaedic care with a focus on shoulder and elbow reconstruction, sports medicine, and fracture management, and is affiliated with Overlook Medical Center, Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital Rahway, Trinitas Hospital, and is affiliated with Linden Surgical Center.
