About me
Owano Pennycooke, MD, is a vascular surgeon with Atlantic Medical Group (AMG). Board-certified in vascular surgery by the American Board of Surgery, he has more than 10 years of experience specializing in the diagnosis and surgical treatment of disorders affecting the blood vessels, including arteries and veins, excluding those of the heart and brain, and manages conditions such as aneurysms, peripheral artery disease, and varicose veins using both open and minimally invasive techniques. He is dedicated to providing compassionate, personalized care to all patients and ensuring they are educated about their condition and treatment.
Dr. Pennycooke obtained his BA in Biological Sciences from Rutgers University, New Brunswick, followed by his medical degree from UMDNJ-New Jersey Medical School, Newark, NJ. He then performed a general surgery residency at UMDNJ-Robert Wood Johnson Cooper University Hospital, where he also served as chief resident, followed by a vascular surgery fellowship at UMDNJ-New Jersey Medical School. Prior to joining AMG, he served as a vascular surgeon at Hackensack Meridian Health and a medical director at Associates in Vascular Care, Middletown, NJ.
Dr. Pennycooke has authored peer-reviewed publications, delivered national presentations, and is a member of the professional organizations American Venous Forum, and Society of Vascular Surgery. He is a participating provider of the Atlantic Accountable Care Organization.
