Global recognition
At Atlantic Health System maternity centers, we offer globally recognized breastfeeding support. All four of our maternity centers are deemed Baby-Friendly Designated birth facilities by Baby-Friendly USA and both Morristown Medical Center and Overlook Medical Center have each received the International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC) Care Award. This recognition is given to programs worldwide that provide ongoing breastfeeding education for their maternity center nurses and offer projects that promote, protect and support breastfeeding.
Expert breastfeeding help
All our certified lactation consultants are registered nurses with years of experience helping new moms breastfeed their babies. Our lactation specialists provide a wide range of services. They can help with:
- Breastfeeding classes and individual instruction before and after your baby is born.
- Assistance with breastfeeding while you and your baby are in the hospital.
- Counseling over the phone or during office hours after you and your baby have been discharged.
- Renting or buying electric breast pumps and supplies.
- Help for working mothers.
