Hospital doula service

Labor and delivery — and the first hours after giving birth — can be hard for some new parents. Our maternity centers offer hospital doulas to help ensure a comfortable and positive birth experience.

Clarifying the doula's role

Doulas primarily provide emotional support for a positive birth experience. Hospital doulas should not be confused with midwives as they do not make decisions about clinical care or perform any medical tasks such as temperature checks or fetal heart rate monitoring. They do not make house calls or provide any services before labor and delivery. Doulas are not replacements for birth partners.
