Linda D. Gillam, MD, MPH, FACC, FAHA, FASE, FESC is chair of cardiovascular medicine for Atlantic Health System. She is a graduate of McGill, Queen’s and Columbia Universities.
Dr. Gillam is past president of the American Society of Echocardiography and is a former trustee and governor of the American College of Cardiology. She has published more than 100 peer reviewed manuscripts in the fields of echocardiography, heart disease in women and valvular heart disease. She has served as site principal or co-investigator for more than 30 multicenter trials.
While at Columbia University she directed the Echocardiography Core Lab and with her move to Atlantic Health System has established the Cardiovascular Imaging Core Lab. She is associate editor for Circulation: Cardiovascular Imaging, a guest editor for the Journal of the American Society of Echocardiography and a member of the editorial board of the Journal of the American College of Cardiology. She is co-editor (with Catherine Otto, MD) of a textbook titled, Advanced Approaches in Echocardiography.
Past awards have included the Mentoring Award of the Council on Clinical Cardiology of the American Heart Association, the Richard Popp Gifted Educator Award of the American Society of Echocardiography, the American College of Cardiology Distinguished Service Award, the McDonald Lecturer of the Ontario Heart and Stroke Foundation, and the Laennec Lecturer at the Annual Scientific Sessions of the American Heart Association. In 2013, she was the recipient of the American Society of Echocardiography Meritorious Service Award.
