Our program at Atlantic Health Morristown
The Dental Residency Program at Atlantic Health Morristown Medical Center is a one-year program based in Morristown, New Jersey. Training takes place in a state-of-the-art Delta Dental Center that opened two years ago and features eight fully equipped dental operatories. Each resident treatment room is supported by chairside assistants and surgical microscopes.
Because there is no dental specialty residency associated with the general practice program, residents gain broad exposure to all dental specialties. New graduates work closely with more than 40 dental specialists practicing throughout New Jersey, allowing for a comprehensive and well-rounded clinical experience.
The clinic functions in a private practice–style environment, preparing residents for independent practice and long-term career success. Morristown Medical Center is a Level I Trauma Center, providing residents with extensive experience in managing emergent head and neck conditions, including oral cancer, infections, and trauma. By the end of the program, residents develop strong confidence in handling complex and urgent clinical scenarios.
The dental center is equipped with advanced digital technology, including an intraoral scanner and a CEREC system for same-day crowns and onlays. Residents are trained to plan implant restorations, design surgical implant guides using CBCT technology, and place and restore dental implants.
The center manages more than 8,000 patient visits annually and serves over 2,000 patients each year, ensuring a diverse and high-volume clinical experience.
