December 4, 2019

Philippe Géneréux, MD, Co-Director of the Structural Heart Program at Atlantic Health System’s Morristown Medical Center and an interventional cardiologist internationally known for his novel research, has been named a Highly Cited Researcher by the Web of Science Group.

According to Web of Science, Dr. Géneréux’s publications rank in the top one percent of clinical medicine citations over the past decade by his peers and colleagues. Dr. Géneréux has been published more than 430 times in peer-reviewed cardiology journals, and has been cited nearly 11,000 times.

Of the world’s population of scientists and social scientists, Highly Cited Researchers are only one in 1,000.

The full 2019 Highly Cited Researchers list and executive summary can be found here.

About the Highly Cited Researchers List

Since 2002, the Highly Cited Researchers list has identified global research scientists and social scientists who have demonstrated exceptional influence – reflected through their publication of multiple papers frequently cited by their peers during the last decade. This year’s list continues

to recognize researchers whose citation records position them in the very highest strata of influence and impact, as it includes 23 Nobel laureates.

Researchers across the world eagerly anticipate the launch of the Highly Cited Researchers list each year and hundreds of universities also celebrate the inclusion of their own researchers on the list.

The data are taken from 21 broad research fields within Essential Science Indicators, a component of InCites. The fields are defined by sets of journals and exceptionally, in the case of multidisciplinary journals such as Nature and Science, by a paper-by-paper assignment to a field based on an analysis of the cited references in the papers. This percentile-based selection method removes the citation advantage of older papers relative to recently published ones, since papers are weighed against others in the same annual cohort.

Full methodology can be found  here.
