Morristown, NJ – Atlantic Health System is elevating its commitment to diversity and inclusion with the addition of Armond Kinsey as Chief Diversity Officer. As one of the leading healthcare systems in New Jersey, the organization operates five medical centers, a children’s hospital and over 400 sites of care.

As Chief Diversity Officer, Armond will work collaboratively across the system to ensure health equity and inclusion for all. His efforts will strengthen our focus on diversity and inclusion in patient care, team member experiences, community engagement, and business and supplier relationships. Armond will also develop innovative programs and strategic initiatives to advance our mission of building healthier communities.

“Atlantic Health System has a long history of creating environments and teams that are welcoming to all,” said Brian Gragnolati, President and Chief Executive Officer. “Armond is an ideal fit to take our commitment to the next level, supporting the many communities we serve and our workforce of 17,000 caregivers. We know diversity drives innovation, so we are thrilled to have Armond join our team to ensure all voices are heard, included and respected.”

“I am excited about this opportunity to drive Atlantic Health System’s commitment to diversity, and look forward to strengthening inclusion from within,” said Kinsey. “I believe our differences can bring us together, if we commit to creating environments where people from diverse backgrounds and experiences all feel welcome and engaged.”

Atlantic Health System is on the FORTUNE 100 Best Workplaces for Women list and the FORTUNE 100 Best Workplaces for Diversity list, and all five medical centers are designated as Leaders in LGBTQ care on the Healthcare Equality Index. Earlier this year, the company received its eleventh consecutive recognition on FORTUNE’s list of the 100 Best Companies to Work For.

“Our amazing workforce is recognized across the nation for their extraordinary caring and teamwork. Together, we are ready to tackle a new challenge, addressing the social determinants of health. Under Armond’s leadership, we will launch a targeted approach to achieve health equity for our communities and workforce,” added Nikki Sumpter, Senior Vice President and Chief Human Resources Officer.

Armond was previously at Kaiser Permanente, where he served as Chief Equity, Inclusion & Diversity Officer – Mid Atlantic, and was instrumental in developing and implementing strategies to drive sustainable growth, quality, and affordability.
