September 27, 2019

Only Healthcare System in New Jersey to Earn the Distinction

Morristown, NJ – It’s the unique benefits, inclusive culture and focus on team member development that has earned Atlantic Health System the number 62 spot on Modern Healthcare’s Best Places to Work in Healthcare list. This is the second year in a row that Atlantic Health System, the only healthcare system from New Jersey to make the list, has been selected for inclusion into this elite group.

The award is based, in part, on anonymous survey responses from a sampling of Atlantic Health System’s more than 17,000 team members.

The Modern Healthcare accolade is just the latest recognition for Atlantic Health System’s award-winning workplace culture. Earlier this year, Atlantic Health System was named to Fortune’s 100 Best Companies to Work For list for the 11th consecutive year, and named to Fortune’s Best Workplace in Health Care and BioPharma list. Additionally, each of its medical centers earned recognitions for clinical excellence from organizations including Newsweek, U.S. News and World Report, Healthgrades, the Leapfrog Group, Becker’s Hospital Review and Castle Connolly and were given environmental sustainability awards from Practice Greenhealth.

“Our team members are truly remarkable and it’s because of their dedication and commitment to provide extraordinary caring that we’ve been named to Modern Healthcare’s list of Best Places to Work in Healthcare two years in a row,” said Nikki Sumpter, Senior Vice President and Chief Human Resources Officer at Atlantic Health System. “At Atlantic Health System, we know that having an engaging workplace that focuses on the unique needs of each individual creates amazing experiences, and we’re committed to team member well-being and having an inclusive culture that is welcoming of all so our team members can bring their whole selves to work.”

Modern Healthcare, in partnership with the Best Companies Group, employs a multilayer assessment process when making its choices for the list of Best Places to Work in Healthcare. It includes an extensive employee survey covering leadership, culture, training, work environment, pay and benefits, among other areas, to identify and recognize companies that truly stand out in the healthcare space.
