MORRISTOWN, NJ – May 23, 2022 – Atlantic Health System is pleased to announce the arrival of Suja Mathew, MD, FACP, as the system’s new Executive Vice President, Chief Clinical Officer. With decades of experience in clinical leadership and physician development, Dr. Mathew will work collaboratively to deliver innovative and high-quality care for patients across the region.

In her unique role as Chief Clinical Officer, Dr. Mathew will primarily focus on three key areas: optimizing patient access to the full Atlantic Health System network of care, elevating the system’s innovative research and academic programs and continuing the system’s commitment to the highest quality care.

“Atlantic Health System offers expert care to our communities. Our educational programs ensure that we impact medicine for generations to come.”

Rothstein CORE Center. Dr. Mathew also led one of the nation’s largest internal medicine residency programs, fellowships in 9 internal medicine sub-specialties, residencies in preventive medicine and dermatology, and clerkship programs for medical students from Rush Medical College, Rosalind Franklin University, and Midwestern University.

“The Atlantic Health System team is proud of our culture of inquiry and constantly searching for new ways to improve lives within the communities we serve,” said Brian Gragnolati, President and CEO. “As a leader who has devoted her career to building strong relationships between patients and caregivers, Suja is a perfect fit for Atlantic Health System. I look forward to working with her on behalf of our patients, their families and our entire team.”
