Atlantic Health System Expands Access to its Network and Adds New Services by Acquiring Thompson Healthcare & Sports Medicine

11 locations across Ocean, Monmouth, Burlington and Atlantic counties now part of Atlantic Health System

MARCH 15, 2023, MORRISTOWN & FORKED RIVER N.J. – Residents across central and southern New Jersey will now benefit from the combined resources of two of the region’s leading health care providers. Today, Atlantic Health System is pleased to announce the addition of Thompson Healthcare & Sports Medicine to its award-winning network of care.

Upon completion, Atlantic Health System will have a majority ownership of the 11 Thompson Healthcare & Sports Medicine locations across Ocean, Monmouth, Burlington and Atlantic counties, and further expands patient access to the Atlantic Health System network’s already extensive list of locations including CentraState Healthcare System, seven Immediate Care urgent care locations and dozens of physician offices.

Thompson Healthcare & Sports Medicine is a leading provider of high-quality care, offering a multitude of services at each of its 11 locations while assisting patients out of pain and keeping them pain free. The wide array of services and specialties now available to Atlantic Health System’s patients via Thompson Healthcare & Sports Medicine include chiropractic, acupuncture, physical therapy, occupational therapy and medical pain management. Thompson Healthcare & Sports Medicine’s 11 facilities are located in Forked River, Toms River, Manahawkin, Brick, Bayville, Wall, Tinton Falls, Barnegat, Marlton, Little Egg Harbor and Linwood. Each of these locations will seamlessly share information with Epic, Atlantic Health’s electronic medical record platform, allowing a patient’s medical information to travel with them throughout Atlantic Health’s entire network of care, including more advanced services at its award-winning medical centers.
