Wait times represent the average estimated length of time from registration to being assigned a "first provider" (a doctor, nurse practitioner or physician assistant). Times displayed for Atlantic Health Systems are:

  • Reported as an average of wait times for the previous 2 hours of patients that have presented to the emergency department and have been seen by a provider
  • Refreshed at least every 15 minutes

Many circumstances can affect wait times - for example, patients arriving by ambulance or with life-threatening injuries or illnesses. Patients with severe conditions will be seen before those with less-serious problems or ailments. These times are provided for informational purposes only and cannot be guaranteed upon arrival.

Digital Breast Tomosynthesis

Digital breast tomosynthesis (DBT), sometimes referred to as a three-dimensional mammogram, is a diagnostic tool that can detect small breast tumors, while decreasing false positives and the need for repeat mammograms.

Benefits of 3D Mannography

DBT uses an X-ray to take multiple digital images of the breast in just seconds. This allows radiologists and breast imagers at Atlantic Health System Cancer Care to examine the tissue in small slices with enhanced clarity and detail. Smaller tumors that would otherwise have been difficult to assess can now be identified in earlier stages, improving survival rates.

Patients who may benefit from DBT include those who are at high-risk for developing breast cancer and/or have a history of needing follow-up diagnostic mammograms after a routine, annual screening.

3D mammograms may vary by location. Please confirm when booking an appointment.
