The exceptional quality of pediatric care provided at Atlantic Health System Children’s Health is designed to make your child's visit the best it can possibly be. Family involvement in every child’s diagnosis and treatment is key to the child’s healing process.
Goryeb Children’s Hospital at Morristown Medical Center is a state-designated “Children’s Hospital” – an earned recognition from New Jersey and the national Children’s Hospital Association. We have more than 250 community pediatricians on staff and more than 100 board-certified pediatric specialists. In addition, we have several outpatient locations including Goryeb Children’s Center at Overlook Medical Center and 55 Madison Avenue in Morristown, NJ. These resources are seamlessly accessible across Atlantic Health System, to pediatric patients at Chilton Medical Center, Newton Medical Center and Hackettstown Medical Center.
Patient and Family-Centered Care
All of our staff – from pediatric physicians and nurses to child life specialists and on-site teachers – embrace the philosophy of patient- and family-centered care. We understand that parents and family members provide children with the strength and courage to face medical situations that can be difficult and complicated. Family members also offer invaluable information and insight, enhancing the skill with which our experts approach each child’s individual needs.
Our physicians, nurses, patient services representatives, counselors and trained volunteers will work in close partnership with you, communicating regularly and openly, to guarantee that your child’s needs are always addressed. We honor the preferences, needs and values of every family, and we are committed to designing treatment plans that reflect your beliefs and traditions.

At the Jets game on October 7, 2018, four children who were undergoing or completed cancer treatment at Goryeb Children's Hospital served as honory captains for the coin toss. Jack, who experienced the game remotely via the VGo robot last year, was healthy enough to attend in person this time around and shared his thoughts.
Children's Center at Chilton Medical Center
The Children’s Center at Chilton Medical Center offers an innovative model of care by combining both pediatric emergency services and inpatient hospital care in one, family-friendly facility. It is the only one of its kind in New Jersey. Children’s Center physicians and nurses specialize in pediatrics and are equipped to handle all types of childhood emergencies and illnesses, from minor injuries to more serious medical conditions that require an overnight stay.
Advanced Care Unit at Newton Medical Center
Sometimes pediatric patients need more attention than can be provided in the emergency department, but their condition doesn’t warrant a hospital stay. That’s why Newton Medical Center has an Advanced Care Unit (ACU) where children are comfortably monitored and assessed to determine the best course of treatment. Family-friendly accommodations include banquette seating for parents to spend the night with their child, a relaxing atmosphere and kid-friendly meals. What’s more, all of our nurses are cross-trained to care for both adults and children, and a pediatric specialist is always on hand.
