Today's children are less active and eating unhealthy foods more than ever before. Those habits have led to an alarming increase in childhood obesity and obesity-related diseases, such as diabetes, heart disease and psychosocial challenges.

That’s why Goryeb Children’s Hospital offers Kid-Fit, which uses physical activity, nutrition and behavioral modifications to help overweight children and adolescents make healthier lifestyle choices.
Kid-Fit’s individualized programs vary based on each child’s age, body mass index (BMI) and health needs:
- Ages 5 to 11 with a BMI less than 94 percent
- Ages 12 to 18 with a BMI less than 94 percent
- Ages 5 to 18 with a BMI greater than 95 percent or weight-related health problems
- Ages 8 to 18 looking to improve athletic performance
Kid-Fit Enrollment Process
Patients and families looking for help living a healthier lifestyle must first schedule an intake appointment with the Kid-Fit team. This initial consultation helps us assess the exact needs of each child and enroll him or her in the program that’s most appropriate.
As part of Atlantic Health System Children’s Health, we have medical specialists here who provide superior pediatric care that is specific to your child’s needs, while also respectful of every family’s values. Physician services are provided through Atlantic Medical Group and are on staff at Goryeb Children's Hospital.
