Health care workers, long-term care residents and staff, first responders and people who are over age 65 or are age 16-64 with a medical condition that increases the risk of severe illness from COVID-19 are eligible.
Our goal is to vaccinate everyone who wants to receive a vaccine. We are following the priority guidelines outlined by the State of New Jersey. As additional phases open, we will provide updates here.

How can I learn more about the COVID-19 vaccines?
-
The first vaccines authorized for use are messenger RNA (mRNA) vaccines, making them remarkably safe and effective. Unlike vaccines that put a weakened or inactive germ in our bodies, these new vaccines use noninfectious, synthetic mRNA to produce antibodies that protect us from infection if we are exposed to the virus.

Physicians and scientists at the U.S. Food and Drug Administration follow a rigorous regulatory review process to ensure the safety and effectiveness of all vaccines. That process is underway for these vaccines, which have impressive clinical trial effectiveness rates of approximately 95%.
-
What are the potential side effects from a COVID-19 vaccine?
-
A side effect is any undesirable effect shown by studies to be caused by a medical intervention – including vaccines. Vaccines are designed to cause immune responses to enable your body to withstand a later infection. This means that one common side effect of vaccines are relatively mild, flu-like symptoms that go away without medical intervention within a few days. In rare cases, severe adverse reactions can also occur. Read the FDA’s fact sheet for each vaccine to understand the risks.
