Adrian Balica, MD

Adrian C. Balica, MD, is a board-certified obstetrician-gynecologist with Atlantic Medical Group, bringing nearly 20 years of experience in women’s health and gynecological surgery. He is certified in obstetrics and gynecology by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology and has a strong clinical focus in endometriosis surgery, procedural pelvic pain management, and advanced ultrasound imaging. He is currently serving as the chair of Women’s Health, Obstetrics and Gynecology, at Overlook Medical Center.

Dr. Balica earned his medical degree from the University of Medicine and Pharmacy “Victor Babes” in Timișoara, Romania. He completed his residency in internal medicine at Englewood Hospital / Mount Sinai School of Medicine in Englewood, NJ, where he served as chief resident. He went on to complete his residency in obstetrics and gynecology at UMDNJ-Robert Wood Johnson Medical School in New Brunswick, NJ.

Before joining Atlantic Medical Group, Dr. Balica served as an attending physician and expert surgeon across multiple medical centers in New Jersey and South Carolina. He has also been an influential medical educator, serving as an associate professor and assistant dean for clinical initiatives and practice integration at Rutgers Robert Wood Johnson Medical School, and as a clinical professor at the University of South Carolina School of Medicine in Columbia.

Dr. Balica has authored numerous peer-reviewed publications and has presented at national and international conferences on topics related to minimally invasive gynecologic surgery. He is a respected member of several professional organizations, including the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists, the American Institute of Ultrasound in Medicine, and the International Society of Gynecological Endoscopy, where he holds lifetime membership. He has also held prominent roles within the American Association of Gynecologic Laparoscopists.

Dr. Balica is known for his compassionate, patient-centered approach, ensuring that each patient is fully informed and involved in their care.

He is also a participating provider of the Atlantic Accountable Care Organization.
