Alex Maharaj, MD

Alex Maharaj, MD, is a hospitalist and internist with Atlantic Medical Group (AMG). Board-certified in internal medicine by the American Board of Internal Medicine, Dr. Maharaj specializes in diagnosing and treating acute and chronic illnesses. He works closely with other physicians and specialists to provide coordinated, patient-centered care.

After completing his medical education at St. George’s University School of Medicine in Grenada, he completed an internal medicine residency at Overlook Medical Center. During his residency, he received the Chief Resident of the Year Award in 2019. 

Dr. Maharaj is deeply committed to cultivating strong patient relationships built on mutual respect and trust. He also has a special interest in health care mentorship, medical education and medical didactics. In 2023, he received the Clinical Excellence Award at Overlook Medical Center. He is a participating provider of the Atlantic Accountable Care Organization and is fluent in English and Spanish.
