Anita Sultan, MD

Anita Sultan, MD, is a fellowship-trained hematologist/oncologist with Advanced Care Oncology and Hematology (ACOHA), part of Atlantic Medical Group (AMG). Board-certified in internal medicine, medical oncology and hematology by the American Board of Internal Medicine, she has more than 10 years of experience treating blood diseases and various forms of cancer. She is dedicated to providing the highest quality of care and encourages patients to learn as much as they can about their disease and treatments. Dr. Sultan believes arming patients with knowledge of both conventional and complementary anticancer therapies is critical.

After earning her medical degree from Hamdard College of Medicine and Dentistry in Karachi, Pakistan, Dr. Sultan completed an internal medicine residency at Liaquat National Hospital in Karachi and a three-year internal medicine residency at Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center, Lubbock, TX. She then completed a hematology and oncology fellowship also at Texas Tech, where she was named chief fellow and aided in educational program development related to sex and gender-specific health.

Dr. Sultan has been published in a multitude of peer-reviewed medical journals and has presented at dozens of national and international medical conferences and symposia. She maintains a special interest in metastatic breast cancer, ovarian cancer, and lung and colorectal cancers.

Dr. Sultan speaks English and Urdu. She is a member of the American College of Physicians, American Society of Clinical Oncology, and American Society of Hematology, and is a participating provider of the Atlantic Accountable Care Organization.
