Aristea Sideri, MD, PhD, is a fellowship-trained endocrinologist with Atlantic Medical Group. Board-certified in internal medicine, endocrinology, diabetes and metabolism by the American Board of Internal Medicine, and a Diplomate of the American Board of Obesity Medicine, she has clinical expertise treating patients with a wide variety of endocrine conditions. She specializes in weight management, insulin resistance, prediabetes, type 1 and type 2 diabetes, continuous glucose monitoring and insulin pumps, thyroid ultrasound and ultrasound-guided fine needle aspiration biopsy of the thyroid, osteoporosis and bone density scan (DEXA) reading, calcium and parathyroid disorders, neuroendocrine testing and interpretation, adrenal disorders, lipid disorders, PCOS and other hormonal disorders.
Dr. Sideri earned her medical degree at University of Crete, Medical School, Crete, Greece, where she graduated in the top 10% of her class. She received her master’s and PhD degrees from University of Crete as well, the research for which was conducted in the Division of Digestive Diseases at UCLA. She completed an internal medicine residency at Yale New Haven Health, Bridgeport Hospital, Bridgeport, CT, and then a clinical and research fellowship in endocrinology, diabetes and metabolism at New York-Presbyterian/Columbia University Irving Medical Center, New York, NY.
An avid learner, Dr. Sideri also enjoys educating others. She has served as an instructor and mentor for medical students at Columbia, Yale University, UCLA, University of Crete, as well as the local communities. Besides serving as an independent reviewer for the Obesity Decision Point Series at Medscape/WebMD, she has authored multiple publications in peer-reviewed medical journals, and given dozens of presentations, some of which have won awards, at regional, national and international meetings. She is an active member of the American Association of Clinical Endocrinology, the Endocrine Society, the Obesity Medicine Association, The Obesity Society, the Tri-State Obesity Society, the New Jersey Association of Clinical Endocrinologists, and the New York Academy of Science. She is multilingual, fluent in English and Greek and elementary in Spanish.
Dr. Sideri is a participating provider of the Atlantic Accountable Care Organization.
