Caitlin Hartsgrove, MD

Caitlin Hartsgrove, MD, is a fellowship-trained physiatrist with Atlantic Medical Group. Board-certified in physical medicine and rehabilitation (PM&R) and board-eligible in brain injury medicine by the American Board of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, she believes in providing compassionate care to patients of all ages and restoring function to all following concussion and a variety of other brain injuries.

After earning her medical degree at Rutgers New Jersey Medical School, Newark, NJ, Dr. Hartsgrove completed her PM&R residency and fellowship training brain injury medicine at Rutgers New Jersey Medical School/Kessler Institute for Rehabilitation, where she was named clinical chief resident with educational track distinction and received several other honors, including the Resident Recognition Award and the Areti Award - Resident Graduation Award. She served as the Wellness Chair on the residency’s Curriculum Committee. She was also active on the Neurorehabilitation Journal Club and the Medical Student Mentorship Program.

Dr. Hartsgrove’s research included managing agitation in patients after traumatic brain injury, outcomes in hypoxic-ischemic brain injury, rehabilitation outcomes during the COVID-19 pandemic, medical students’ knowledge of Americans with Disability Act requirements, among others. She is a coauthor of articles in peer-reviewed journals and has presented multiple times at national scientific conferences. She has given Grand Rounds lectures to multiple institutions on the topic of disorders of consciousness. In addition, at the Kessler Institute, she has lectured on many topics including concussion in sports medicine, walking aids for better balance, post-traumatic seizures/epilepsy, and disorders of consciousness. Dr. Hartsgrove is a participating provider of the Atlantic Accountable Care Organization.
