About me
As part of the radiation oncology team at Overlook Medical Center, Dr. Kornmehl offers patients more than 30 years of experience in all aspects of her field. She received her medical degree from SUNY Downstate in Brooklyn, then pursued her internship in internal medicine at Brookdale Hospital Medical Center and her radiation therapy residency at SUNY Downstate Medical Center, both located in Brooklyn.
Dr. Kornmehl has served as a clinical assistant professor in radiation oncology at several universities including UMDNJ-New Jersey Medical School, Staten Island University Hospital School of Radiologic Sciences, Hahnemann University Hospital, and Rutgers-Robert Wood Johnson Medical School, where she remains on faculty. She has also served in leadership roles at various hospitals including UMDNJ University Hospital, Brick and Point Pleasant Hospitals, and Monmouth Medical Center, where she was appointed Director of Radiation Oncology.
Named repeatedly as a New Jersey Monthly Magazine Top Doctor, Dr. Kornmehl has been recognized for several academic, research and professional accomplishments. Her work has appeared in numerous medical journals and publications, and she is the author of the critically acclaimed consumer health book, "The Best News about Radiation Therapy." Dr. Kornmehl has also appeared on television and radio to raise awareness about topics relating to cancer, and she has been an invited guest speaker at national lectures and conferences.
Although passionate about her life's work, in her downtime this Brooklyn native enjoys yoga, travelling and all things Elvis.
