Chaitali R Gupte, MD

Chaitali Gupte, MD, is a pulmonologist with Atlantic Medical Group Pulmonary and Allergy Associates specializing in chronic and acute conditions of the lungs. She is board-certified in internal medicine, pulmonary medicine, and critical care medicine by the American Board of Internal Medicine and is fellowship-trained in pulmonary and critical care medicine. Dr. Gupte has broad clinical experience including in the diagnosis, disease prevention and management for patients with asthma, COPD, cough, and pulmonary complications resulting from other illnesses.

Dr. Gupte treats critically ill patients, applying evidence-based methods of decision-making and a compassionate approach to patient care that involves the emotional well-being of family members. In addition, she sees patients on an outpatient basis where she can foster trust and build relationships over time. Her primary goal is to improve the lives of her patients coping with pulmonary disease, working together to arrive at decisions involving care, testing, and medications. Dr. Gupte has collaborated on clinical research and has published on topics pertaining to pulmonology in peer-reviewed journals. She is a member of the American College of Chest Physicians and the American Thoracic Society.

Dr. Gupte earned her medical degree at D.Y. Patil Medical College of Nashik University in Mumbai, India. She performed her residency training at Overlook Medical Center, Summit, NJ, part of Atlantic Health System, and subsequent fellowship in pulmonary and critical care medicine at Newark Beth Israel Medical Center in Newark, NJ. She is a participating provider of the Atlantic Accountable Care Organization.
