Christopher L DeCotiis, MD

Christopher DeCotiis, MD, is a pulmonologist specializing in critical care medicine, pulmonary disease, and pulmonology with Atlantic Health. Board-certified in internal medicine, pulmonary disease, and critical care medicine by the American Board of Internal Medicine, he has more than 10 years of experience treating disorders of the lungs and respiratory system, including pneumonia, asthma, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, interstitial lung disease, and lung cancer. He is dedicated to providing compassionate, personalized care to all patients and ensuring they are educated about their condition and treatment.

After earning his medical degree from Rutgers-New Jersey Medical School, Newark, NJ, Dr. DeCotiis performed a residency in internal medicine at Georgetown University Hospital, Washington, DC. He then completed a fellowship in pulmonary and critical care at New York University, New York, NY. He serves outpatients in multiple offices in the area and treats hospitalized patients at Overlook Medical Center and Morristown Memorial Medical Center. In addition to general pulmonary and critical care diseases, Dr. DeCotiis has a special interest in lung nodules, lung cancer, and advanced bronchoscopy procedures. He serves in several administrative roles including co-director for the Atlantic Health System Lung Nodule program as well as the Atlantic Health System Interventional Pulmonary program.

Dr. DeCotiis is engaged in physician trainee instruction and in community engagement activities for pulmonary disease awareness. He has authored numerous peer-reviewed publications, is a member of the professional organizations American College of Chest Physicians and American Thoracic Society, and is a participating provider of the Atlantic Accountable Care Organization. He was born and raised in New Jersey and is excited to provide care to his community.
