Christopher Tait, Jr, MD

Christopher Tait, MD, is a fellowship-trained gastroenterologist with Atlantic Medical Group Gastroenterology at Rockaway. Board-certified in internal medicine by the American Board of Internal Medicine, he believes strongly in patient-centered medicine and applying evidence-based principles to form a collaborative treatment plan with his patients. Dr. Tait performs diagnostics and treatments to identify and address digestive system dysfunctions including complex inflammatory bowel disease as well as functional gastrointestinal and motility disorders. He sees patients at both AMG Gastroenterology locations in Morristown and Rockaway.

After earning his medical degree at Sidney Kimmel Medical College at Thomas Jefferson University, Philadelphia, PA, Dr. Tait performed his internal medicine residency at Washington University in St. Louis, MO. He then completed his gastroenterology fellowship training at Rutgers Robert Wood Johnson Medical School, New Brunswick, NJ, where he was named chief gastroenterology fellow and gained experience treating a wide breadth of general and specialized gastrointestinal and hepatology conditions. During his training, he held multiple teaching positions and was involved with several research endeavors, with special focus on liver and functional GI disorders. Dr. Tait has a strong clinical background, including a year spent as an academic hospitalist at Columbia University, NYC, during the COVID-19 pandemic, during which he received special commendation for exceptional dedication to patient care.

In addition to being an avid educator, Dr. Tait has been published in several peer-reviewed medical journals regarding chronic liver diseases, including management of cirrhosis and the complications from portal hypertension. He is a participating provider of the Atlantic Accountable Care Organization.
