Derek Lim, DO, is a fellowship-trained surgeon at Atlantic Medical Group with special expertise in minimally invasive and bariatric surgery. Dr. Lim is proficient in state-of-the-art minimally invasive surgical techniques and has certifications in endoscopic, laparoscopic, and robotic surgery. He performs minimally invasive procedures for all types of conditions including weight loss, hernia repair, acid reflux, and colorectal disease. His special training in bariatric surgery provides patients suffering from obesity with options including gastric bypass, gastric sleeve, and conversion surgery. Dr. Lim understands the challenges patients face due to obesity and abdominal disorders and is committed to managing patients through all stages of surgery, from pre-operative, peri-operative, and post-operative care. After earning his doctorate degree in osteopathic medicine from the New York Institute of Technology College of Osteopathic Medicine, Dr. Lim completed his residency training at New York University Langone Health. He pursued a fellowship in minimally invasive and bariatric surgery from Wayne State University School of Medicine, Detroit Medical Center, where he performed hundreds of surgical procedures. Dr. Lim is a participating provider of the Atlantic Accountable Care Organization.
