About me
Eric M. Black, MD is an orthopedic surgeon focusing on a variety of overuse, sports, and traumatic injuries. Dr. Black’s expertise includes complex arthroscopic surgery, reconstructive surgery, replacement surgery, and fracture surgery of the shoulder and elbow. He has advanced knowledge and skills in complex rotator cuff repairs, instability surgery, and shoulder replacements. Dr. Black has additional expertise in complex fracture care from his experience as Chief Resident of the Massachusetts General Hospital and Brigham and Women’s Hospital Orthopedic Trauma service. He has worked with a large, diverse patient population, including professional athletes as well as patients with major and minor trauma, and end-stage arthritis. He has trained with some of the world’s top shoulder and elbow surgeons and has been elected to the Neer Circle of the American Shoulder and Elbow Surgeons (ASES) in recognition of his exemplary service and leadership in the field.
