Franklin Esmil Paulino, MD

Franklin Paulino, MD, is a fellowship-trained pediatric orthopedic surgeon with Atlantic Medical Group Pediatric Orthopedics at Ridgewood. He earned his medical degree from Columbia University Vagelos College of Physicians and Surgeons in New York City and performed his residency in orthopedic surgery at the Zucker School of Medicine at Hofstra/Northwell in New Hyde Park, NY. He received further training in a clinical fellowship in pediatric orthopedic surgery at Columbia University Irving Medical Center, NYC.

Understanding growing bones and the complex issues that can occur in a child’s development is crucial for a pediatric orthopedic specialist. Dr. Paulino provides both surgical and nonsurgical procedures for many pediatric orthopedic conditions and sports-related injuries. As an orthopedic resident he covered several football games per year as the sideline physician evaluating common musculoskeletal injuries including concussions, shoulder dislocations, and fractures in high school and junior high school players.

Dr. Paulino has been published in peer-reviewed orthopedic journals, wrote book chapters on orthopedic care and evaluation in newborns, and on orthopedic evaluation of the limping child. He has conducted research on the treatment of septic arthritis of the hip. In addition to English, Dr. Paulino is fluent in Spanish. He is a participating provider of the Atlantic Accountable Care Organization.
