Gary Belt, MD

Dr. Gary Belt is a neurologist at the Comprehensive Stroke Center in Summit with privileges at Overlook Medical Center. He provides cutting-edge care and innovative treatment options for patients through a variety of diagnostic measures including EEG, EMG and evoked potentials. Dr. Belt is board-certified in both internal medicine and adult neurology, with special qualifications in clinical neurophysiology and vascular neurology. As an undergraduate at University of Pennsylvania where he graduated cum laude, Dr. Belt honed his interest in the sciences, and earned his medical degree at Mount Sinai School of Medicine. He completed his internal medicine residency at Rhode Island Hospital, part of the Brown University system, and his neurology residency at The Mount Sinai Hospital, where he served as chief resident. Dr. Belt was in the private practice of adult neurology for 26 years in central Connecticut and served as an assistant clinical professor at the University of Connecticut School of Medicine as well as various positions with the Hartford County Medical Association before moving to Overlook Medical Center in 2014. He is currently assistant clinical professor of neurology at Thomas Jefferson College of Medicine and is a fellow of the American Academy of Neurology. Dr. Belt is part of the Atlantic Medical Group and a participating provider of the Atlantic Accountable Care Organization.
