About me
John Pellegrino, MD, is a breast surgeon with Atlantic Medical Group, fellowship-trained in breast oncology, and board-certified in general surgery by the American Board of Surgery. He works in concert with the comprehensive cancer care located at the Statesir Cancer Center at CentraState Medical Center, which includes a nationally recognized breast cancer program and a high-risk screening program.
With more than 25 years of experience as an attending surgeon, Dr. Pellegrino has a reputation as a kind and compassionate surgeon, taking his patients’ comfort and concerns to heart. He is careful to thoroughly explain their condition and his procedures to patients so that they feel less anxious and more informed.
Dr. Pellegrino earned his medical degree from Creighton University, Omaha, NE, then completed his surgical internship and residency at Saint Barnabas Medical Center, Livingston, NJ, where he was named chief resident. His post-residency training in breast oncology was performed at Memorial Sloan Kettering Hospital, NYC.
Sharing knowledge and experience is a strong value to Dr. Pellegrino. He has served as instructor to residents in surgery and medical students as well as speaking regularly to various physician and civic groups on breast surgery, breast diseases and breast cancer. Dr. Pellegrino is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons and the American Society of Breast Surgeons.
