Jonathan M Roth, MD

Jonathan M. Roth, MD, is a fellowship-trained orthopedic surgeon with Atlantic Medical Group (AMG) who cares for patients with musculoskeletal conditions, specifically those of the knee and shoulder. Board-certified in orthopedic surgery and orthopedic sports medicine by the American Board of Orthopedic Surgery, he provides both operative and nonoperative therapies. His clinical specialties include minimally invasive procedures of the ligaments and cartilage for knee and shoulder joint instability, tendon tears and traumatic and sports injuries.

With a guiding philosophy to provide compassionate and high-quality care, Dr. Roth understands that orthopedic problems greatly affect an individual’s quality of life. Whether a person is an elite athlete or simply enjoying time with family and friends, Dr. Roth strives to improve each patients’ quality of life and return them to their prior level of activity. He treats every person as an individual, knowing that each case is unique and requires a tailored treatment plan to achieve the best long-term results.

Dr. Roth’s expertise has touched people from across the nation. He served as an orthopedic surgeon in the U.S. Navy for 11 years, caring for active duty service members, retirees and their families. Dr. Roth received his training at the Naval Medical Center in Portsmouth, VA, and pursued fellowship training in orthopedic sports medicine at Duke University Medical Center in Durham, NC. While on active duty, Dr. Roth served as a general orthopedic surgeon in Naples, Italy, and as a sports medicine orthopedic surgeon at Fort Belvoir Community Hospital (now called Alexander T. Augusta Military Medical Center) in Virginia. While on active duty in the U.S. Navy, Dr. Roth served as an assistant professor of surgery at the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences in Bethesda, MD.
