Karan Kapoor, MD

Karan Kapoor, MD, FACC, FASE, is a fellowship-trained cardiologist with Atlantic Medical Group (AMG). He is board-certified in internal medicine and cardiovascular disease by the American Board of Internal Medicine, in adult comprehensive echocardiography by the National Board of Echocardiography, in nuclear cardiology by the Certification Board of Nuclear Cardiology, and in cardiovascular computed tomography by the Society of Cardiovascular Computed Tomography. He is experienced in advanced imaging modalities including echocardiography to guide structural heart interventions and cardiac computed tomography. Additionally, he has a strong interest in the prevention of cardiovascular disease and the management of advanced lipid disorders.

After earning his medical degree via an accelerated BS/MD program at Rutgers-New Jersey Medical School, Dr. Kapoor completed his residency in internal medicine at the University of Maryland, where he was subsequently named chief resident. He went on to complete a fellowship in general cardiology at the Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore, MD, where he pursued a second fellowship in advanced echocardiography. In addition, during his fellowship he completed the science of clinical investigation training program at the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health.

Dr. Kapoor then served as a staff cardiologist and assistant professor of medicine at the Lewis Katz School of Medicine at Temple University in Philadelphia, PA, where he was on faculty for three years prior to joining AMG.

The author of more than 30 publications in peer-reviewed medical journals and textbooks, Dr. Kapoor has presented widely at many national and international meetings and is a Fellow of the American College of Cardiology (FACC) and the American Society of Echocardiography (FASE). A committed educator, he was awarded the Temple Cardiology Faculty Teaching Award in 2023. He is a participating provider of the Atlantic Accountable Care Organization.
