Kenneth Blank, MD, is an Atlantic Medical Group radiation oncologist at Chilton Medical Center. Board-certified by the American Board of Radiology with over 20 years of practice experience, Dr. Blank provides patients with the most advanced radiation treatment options in a comfortable and nurturing environment.
Treating a wide range of cancers, Dr. Blank helps patients cope with the challenges their illness presents. He utilizes an evidence-based approach and employs a broad range of state-of-the art treatments, including intensity modulated radiotherapy (IMRT), stereotactic body radiotherapy (SBRT), and image-guided radiation therapy (IGRT); these modern radiotherapy techniques improve precision and accuracy leading to better treatment outcomes with fewer side effects. Specialized techniques for treatment of breast cancer are offered to ensure the heart and lung are spared toxicity and include deep inspiration breath hold (DIBH), prone breast irradiation, and accelerated partial breast radiation with ‘ultra’ hypofractionated regimens. Dr. Blank works in close collaboration with other specialists to provide patients with leading-edge cancer care including enrollment in clinical trials, in a compassionate outpatient environment.
During his residency, Dr. Blank served as chief resident and received the Roentgen Resident Research Award from the Radiological Society of North America in recognition of excellence in medical research. His research into radiotherapy for prostate cancer and other malignancies has been published in several peer-reviewed medical journals, including the Journal of the American Medical Association (JAMA). He is a member of the American Society for Therapeutic Radiology and Oncology, and the American Society of Clinical Oncology.
Dr. Blank performed undergraduate studies at Duke University where he was elected to Phi Beta Kappa, attended medical school at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine, Bronx, NY, and pursued a residency at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania, Philadelphia. He comes to Atlantic Medical Group from Penn Medicine/Lancaster General Hospital where he served as regional medical director for Penn Medicine Radiation Oncology and medical director of Radiation Oncology at the Ann Barshinger Cancer Institute. He is a participating provider of the Atlantic Accountable Care Organization
