Leena P Shah, MD

Leena P. Shah, MD, FACOG, is a fellowship-trained maternal-fetal medicine specialist, also known as a perinatologist, with Atlantic Medical Group (AMG). Working as part of a team with your obstetrician, Dr. Shah is dedicated to providing the most up-to-date comprehensive and compassionate care for women who anticipate or are experiencing a high-risk pregnancy, as well as performing screening services for low-risk pregnancies. Board-certified in obstetrics and gynecology and maternal-fetal medicine by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology, she has more than 30 years of experience and specialized training in maternal-fetal medicine. She is particularly interested in diabetes and medical complications of pregnancy, labor management, fetal anomalies, and psychiatric conditions in pregnancy.

After earning her medical degree at B.J. Medical College in India, Dr. Shah performed her residency in obstetrics and gynecology at the Montefiore Medical Center/North Central Bronx hospital, Albert Einstein College of Medicine, Bronx, NY, and followed that with a fellowship in maternal-fetal medicine, also at Albert Einstein College of Medicine.

Prior to joining AMG, Dr. Shah served as an assistant professor of obstetrics and gynecology at Albert Einstein College of Medicine for several years, as well as an attending perinatologist at several hospitals in the Bronx before moving to New Jersey in 2000 to join Morristown Medical Center.

The author of several publications in peer-reviewed medical journals, as well as a reviewer for the Journal of Maternal-Fetal Medicine, Dr. Shah has presented and been an invited speaker at national conferences. She is a Fellow of the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology (FACOG), and a member of the Society for Maternal-Fetal Medicine, Medical Society of New Jersey, Bronx OB/GYN Society, American Association of Physicians from India (AAPI), and the American Institute of Ultrasound Medicine. Dr. Shah is a participating provider of the Atlantic Accountable Care Organization.
