Matthew D Garrett, MD

Matthew D. Garrett, MD, is a radiation oncologist with Atlantic Medical Group (AMG). Board-certified in radiation oncology by the American Board of Radiology, he specializes in treating cancer using targeted radiation therapy to destroy tumors while minimizing damage to healthy tissue. He is dedicated to providing compassionate, personalized care to all patients and ensuring they are educated about their condition and treatment.

Dr. Garrett earned his medical degree from the Columbia University Vagelos College of Physicians and Surgeons, New York, NY, where he was an NIH T35 grant recipient in radiation oncology. Prior to medical school, he completed a postbaccalaureate premedical program at Columbia University, New York, NY. He completed his residency in radiation oncology at NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital and Columbia University Irving Medical Center, New York, NY, serving as chief resident, and also completed an internal medicine internship at Saint Barnabas Medical Center, Livingston, NJ. In addition, Dr. Garrett also holds a Master of Music in opera performance from The Juilliard School, New York, NY, as well as a Bachelor of Arts in music with honors from Brown University, Providence, RI.

Prior to joining AMG, he served as a radiation oncologist at Holy Name Medical Center, Teaneck, NJ. He has authored peer-reviewed publications in adaptive radiotherapy and gynecologic cancers and is a formal reviewer for the journal Practical Radiation Oncology. He is a member of the professional organization American Society for Radiation Oncology and is a participating provider of the Atlantic Accountable Care Organization.
