Melissa Lozano, MD

Melissa Lozano, MD, MA, is an obstetrician-gynecologist and the women’s health system medical director at Atlantic Medical Group (AMG). Board-certified in obstetrics and gynecology by the American Board of Obstetrics & Gynecology, she has more than seven years of experience specializing in comprehensive women's health including ambulatory GYN care (preventative care, gynecologic issues such as abnormal uterine bleeding, contraception, etc.), labor and delivery management and the acute management of GYN emergencies. She is dedicated to providing compassionate, personalized care to all patients and ensuring they are educated about their condition and treatment.

After earning her bachelor’s degree, with honors, from Wheaton College, Norton, MA, and master’s degree in graduate medical sciences from Boston University School of Medicine, Boston, MA, Dr. Lozano obtained her medical degree from State University of New York, Downstate Medical Center, New York, NY, and completed an OB/GYN internship and residency at Mount Sinai West, New York, NY. Prior to joining AMG, she served as an attending obstetrician and gynecologist at Mount Sinai West, Morningside, and Downtown Union Square, where she supervised residents, midwives and advanced practice providers across labor, delivery, postpartum and gynecology services. She has held multiple leadership roles, including postpartum medical director, assistant residency program director, faculty wellness champion and division director of hospitalists and laborists, overseeing education, clinical operations and quality initiatives across the department. She has taught and led lectures including simulation-based training on clinical care, procedures and social justice in medicine. She has authored peer-reviewed publications, delivered presentations and is a participating provider of the Atlantic Accountable Care Organization.
