About me
As chairman of the Cardiology Department at Newton Medical Center and through his affiliation with the Gagnon Cardiovascular Institute at Morristown Medical Center, Dr. Robert Masci has been instrumental in launching Atlantic Health System’s cardio-oncology program. The focus is on the management of underlying cardiac disease, emerging cardiac disease due to malignancy or cardio toxic effects of cancer therapies. Dr. Masci coordinates an interdisciplinary approach to cardiovascular disease in oncology patients. Dr. Masci’s goal is to optimize his patient’s cardiac care ensuring they receive needed cancer therapies and maintain cardiac health beyond their cancer treatment.
After attending Rutgers Medical School on a scholarship from the United States Navy, Dr. Masci completed a family practice internship at the Jacksonville Naval Hospital. He then served as an underseas medical officer and completed his internal medicine training at the Portsmouth Naval Hospital where he served as chief medical resident. Dr. Masci pursued his cardiology fellowship at the San Diego Naval Medical Center, where he received a highly sought-after appointment to the teaching staff as director of the Cardiac Care Unit. Dr. Masci has been in practice for 25 years and affiliated with Morristown Medical Center for 20 years. He is board-certified in cardiovascular medicine.
