Saad Saifuddin Ahmad, MD

Saad Saifuddin Ahmad, MD, is a fellowship-trained cardiologist with Atlantic Medical Group (AMG). He is board-certified in internal medicine, cardiovascular disease, interventional cardiology, advanced heart failure and transplant cardiology by the American Board of Internal Medicine. Dr. Ahmad’s expertise and interests include complex coronary intervention, mechanical circulatory support, cardiogenic shock, advanced heart failure and transplant.

After earning his medical degree from Aga Khan University in Karachi, Pakistan, he pursued Post Doctorate research at Whitaker Cardiovascular Institute, Boston University. Dr. Ahmad completed an internal medicine residency at the University of Cincinnati in Cincinnati, Ohio. He remained at the University of Cincinnati to perform fellowships in heart failure and transplant, general cardiology and interventional cardiology. Before joining AMG, Dr. Ahmad served as the director of the Pulmonary Embolism Response Team at the University of Cincinnati. Additionally, he served as the heart failure director and associate cardiac cath lab director at VAMC, Cincinnati, Ohio. As an associate professor, he successfully mentored several medical trainees and his contributions to education have been recognized by successive teaching awards.

With a clinical interest in advancing treatments for severe heart conditions, Dr. Ahmad has served as principal investigator for several clinical trials, authored numerous publications for peer-reviewed medical journals and presented at various local and regional conferences. He is a fellow of the American College of Cardiology and the Society for Cardiovascular Angiography and Interventions, as well as an associate of the International Society of Heart and Lung Transplantation and the Heart Failure Society of America.
