Sarah O Chima, MD

Dr. Sarah Chima is a board-certified general surgeon with specialized interest in robotic and laparoscopic general surgery, as well as diagnosis and management of breast cancer including oncoplastic breast surgery. Dr. Chima is also a member of Atlantic Medical Group, which allows her to coordinate care through a single physician network to ensure the best possible outcome for her patients. A native of Boston, Dr. Chima received her medical degree from Howard University in Washington, DC, after receiving her bachelor of science degree in pharmacy from the University of Texas at Austin. She pursued her general surgery internship and residency at SUNY Downstate Medical Center in Brooklyn, NY, and has been practicing medicine for about 15 years, providing expert hands-on care from pre-operative consultations through surgery and post-operative management. Dr. Chima has practiced as a general surgeon at St. Michael’s Medical Center in Newark, St. Mary’s Hospital in Passaic, Mt. Nittany Medical Center in State College, PA, and Williamsport Hospital, also in Pennsylvania. She maintains professional memberships in the American College of Surgeons, the American Society of Breast Surgeons, the American Medical Association and the National Medical Association. She also believes in public service and educating her community about risk prevention by volunteering at health fairs and building awareness about the importance of breast cancer screenings.
